Piloting IHARIS_CFR ( Integrated Humanitarian Assistance and Resilience System ( IHARIS) for Child & Family Resilience Program NDIMUBANDI
Building on lessons from the Gatumba response, WiGLI advanced the development and testing of the Integrated Humanitarian Assistance and Resilience Information System – Child & Family Resilience (IHARIS-CFR).
Through IHARIS-CFR, 156 children from 155 families were identified and registered, establishing a foundation for improved beneficiary tracking, referrals, monitoring, follow-up, and evidence-based support.
The system is designed to help WiGLI move from one-time assistance toward a more comprehensive approach to child and family resilience—ensuring that vulnerable families can be identified, supported, followed up, and connected to appropriate services over time.
Building Resilience Beyond the Emergency
The experience in Gatumba demonstrates how timely, targeted assistance can help vulnerable children continue their educational journey despite the disruption caused by flooding.
For WiGLI, the response represents more than an emergency intervention. It is part of a broader commitment to ensuring that vulnerable children and families are reached, understood, supported, and empowered to build a more resilient future.
