Restoring Dignity, Unlocking Access to Care

An elderly man was in despair. His child was sick, yet he was trapped in detention for failing to pay a fine of 130,000 BIF. Nearby, another mother faced an impossible choice: her child was unwell, but without a birth certificate and other required documents, she was denied free treatment .The only option given to her was to pay 120,000 BIF;  an amount far beyond her means.

Both families were stuck in cycles of poverty and desperation, powerless to change their situation.. WiGLI stepped in to help.
