Claudine: From Severe Malnutrition to Recovery

At only four years old, Claudine’s life was hanging by a thread. During a community health screening, she was identified as severely malnourished, frail, weak, and at serious risk of not surviving. Her family, already struggling, had lost hope.

But hope was not lost. Through WiGLI’s child health and nutrition program in Gasorwe community , Claudine was quickly referred to a community-based nutrition support center, where she received life-saving care and nutrition rehabilitation. At the same time, WiGLI provided her mother with counseling and training on proper feeding, balanced diets, and essential childcare practices, ensuring that recovery would be both immediate and sustainable.

With continuous follow-up and encouragement, Claudine’s health steadily improved. Today, she is fully recovered, playful, and thriving a joyful child with the energy to grow, learn, and dream.

Impact: Claudine’s story demonstrates that timely intervention saves lives, but even more importantly, equipping caregivers with knowledge creates lasting transformation for children and families.
